Pickleball is rapidly becoming one of the most popular sports worldwide. It’s easy to play, social, and incredibly fun. Moreover, it offers a great way to exercise both indoors and outdoors, appealing to all age groups. Young players can share a court with older players, making it an inclusive and family-friendly activity. The number of pickleball courts is limited but the number of players is increasing. AX Global is proud to introduce our comprehensive pickleball court flooring and equipment range.
Standard Pickleball Court Dimensions
A regulation pickleball court measures 20 feet wide by 44 feet long (6.10 meters by 13.41 meters).
Within this space, there are specific zones unique to pickleball. The non-volley zone, also known as the "kitchen," is 20 feet (6.10 meters) wide and 7 feet (2.13 meters) long. The right and left service areas each measure 10 feet (3.05 meters) wide by 15 feet (4.57 meters) long, offering a well-defined playing area for all levels of play.
Leisure Pickleball Court Dimensions If you’re thinking about setting up a pickleball court at home, it’s ideal to have a space that’s at least 30 feet (9.14 meters) wide and 60 feet (18.29 meters) long.
Start by positioning the net and marking the baselines 22 feet from the net. From there, mark the sidelines 20 feet apart and 44 feet long. Then, mark the non-volley zone 7 feet from the net and the full width of the court. Finally, draw the centreline to divide the right and left service areas.
Tournament Pickleball Court Dimensions For tournament standards, a space of 34 feet by 64 feet is recommended to accommodate all forms of gameplay, including singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. The court dimensions remain 20 by 44 feet, with the net height set at 36 inches at the sidelines and 34 inches in the middle. A standard playing area for converting a tennis court is 30 by 60 feet, but a standalone court of 34 by 64 feet is preferable for tournaments.
Indoor vs. Outdoor Courts
AX Global offers pickleball court flooring suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor courts typically feature a rubberized PVC mat surface, providing excellent grip and comfort. Outdoor courts, often found in home or community parks, use specialized polyurethane sports surfaces known for their durability and weather resistance. For a non-permanent solution, modular court tiles on a concrete base are ideal. These tiles offer extra grip and reduce joint impact, making them perfect for players of all ages.
